Student Council Election 2025-2026

At St. Joseph’s School, we don’t just educate minds—we shape leaders. Our Annual Student Council Elections serve as a meaningful pathway for students to develop responsibility, voice their vision, and lead not just with ideas, but with integrity and heart.

June 10, 2025 – Symbol Allotment by the Principal and Headmistress

The election process officially began with the symbol allotment ceremony,.  In a spirit of fairness and equality, each candidate was assigned a unique election symbol—such as a star, tree, book, lamp, clock, etc.—by our Principal and Headmistress. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as the aspiring candidates received their symbols, marking the beginning of their official electoral journey. These symbols will appear on all campaign materials and ballot papers, giving each nominee a unique and recognizable identity.

June 11, 2025 – Inspirational Address by the Secretary

The following morning, the Secretary, Rev. Fr. Edward William Saldanha, addressed the candidates in a special session. In his inspiring and heartfelt message, he reminded everyone that true leadership is rooted not in power, but in service and example. Emphasizing the values of humility, teamwork, and moral courage, he urged the candidates to carry out their campaigns with respect, dignity, and a spirit of fairness.

Following his address, Rev. Fr. Saldanha engaged in a meaningful interaction with the student council, offering insights into how democracy functions within both the school and the larger society. As a symbolic and official gesture, he also distributed the nomination forms to the candidates—marking the beginning of their leadership journey.

June 12, 2025 – Nomination Filing

The election entered its next key phase as 24 students officially submitted their nomination forms for the six council positions, under the supervision of the school’s election committee.

• Prime Minister
• Deputy Prime Minister
• Discipline Minister
• Sports Minister
• Cultural Minister
• Literary Minister

Each position has four nominees, setting the stage for an exciting and spirited election. With the nomination phase now complete, candidates are eagerly awaiting the official start of the campaign period. In the days ahead, they will begin preparing their posters, crafting slogans, and drafting speeches as part of their campaign efforts. The school community is already filled with anticipation for what promises to be a vibrant and meaningful season of student leadership.
